A cracking Dorset pub; great food, lovely service and an open fire to boot. A lovely Christmas tonic to what had been a pretty awful year. Thanks to Mel, Brendon and team for a lovely lunch. PS, best chocolate brownie I've ever had!

Superb. The food is amazing, service was great, beer was well kept. No faults at all.

Rainy day and didnt think too much of the inside interior BUT the outside beer garden is lovely! Nice and spacious with great views. We had some snacky bits off the menu which were both delicious (skewered halloumi and deep-fried Brie). I also enjoyed an amazingly tasty hot chocolate and their Pony Truck beer was lush too. Great service (with a smile) and very Covid-19 friendly.

Lovely little pub with a huge garden out back which would have got 4.5 stars if that was possible. Family and dog friendly. When we visited the menue was limited due to the BBQ shut but what there was was tasty and well presented. Don't order the sandwiches unless you like doorstep cuts of bread filling good though. Would certainly go again. Good view of the castle from the gardens was a bonus.

Slightly (and only slightly) tucked out of the way is this lovely example of a “proper” pub. It feels atmospheric, the beer is good and the staff very pleasant. I haven’t eaten here, but the food being served looked like I will have to return with an elastic waistband in my trousers.
