First ever visit here and we can't wait to return. Its a traditional pub, fire and all but with a huge dining area attached. The food was really good. We had the prawns and duck rolls which were delicious for starters followed by the seafood platter. Very nice indeed. Was unable to manage a pudding, so that will have to be next time.

Really not much to look at on the outside just a little village pub serving food. They have seating out the front and a patio to the rear. Standard fruit machines and pool table. There is a lovely little secluded kids play area right at the end of the car park with a climbing frame, slide and views of the sea which surprised me. The climbing frame has a little telescope too. We didn't eat this time but we're gonna be back to eat next time!
After staying on mersea island we came here for my daughter's seventh birthday meal. Lovely food friendly helpful staff, and lovely food which was very good value for money. Had a lovely experience here and defo will be returning when we come back next year. Thank you .
Placed at furthest end of a room, when no one else was there. Felt isolated from the pub. Food tasted good. Not enough vegetables for four people. No extra gravy on table. Yorkshire pudding over cooked and probably left over from lunch time. Serving lady very friendly.
