Fox&Hounds a smashing pub! Sat outside in sunshine, lunch was lovely! Staff very friendlypolite. Will be venturing again.

I would give this castle 5 stars for history. If you have watched The Last Kingdom, this is the real life castle or seat of position that Uhtred claimed right to, Babenburgh. I would however, give the castle itself 3 stars because it's all reconstructed in the 20th Century and the modern history is much less interesting. Still cool to see because it is a fort on the beach with cannons facing out at sea and the rooms in the castle are beautiful decorated with different collections of furniture and art.

Had lunch today. Slow cooked brisket was tough as boots couldn't eat it. Chips not very nice used to be home cooked chips but these tasted frozen and chewy. Wont be returning better restaurants and food out there.

Fabulous food, brilliant staff, beautiful setting. They really pull out all the stops at this pub. Nothing was too much trouble. Go there!!
