Lovely restaurant and run by very friendly and accommodating young couple. Great variety of food and value for money.... in beautiful surroundings. Hope to be back soon.

Well presented, really good refurbishment. I've been to this pub a handful of times, and this is the first visit since their recent refurb. The layout is more open and feels suited to the dining experience that you receive from such a quaint village pub. Feels more like a high end experience than something like the dog and duck. Menu has been revamped, with new items such as the confit duck leg or the cauliflower steak. What is upsetting is that they removed my favourite meal - the Beef stroganoff. The menu design has also been updated and looks much cleaner and less cluttered. I had ordered a 10oZ ribeye with a double Highland park whiskey Drink came within a couple minutes which was good to sip on while I waited, although my meal didn't take long until it was served anyways. Steak was GORGEOUS. Perfectly cooked, generous seasoning and charred on the outside. Very high quality steak, not much fat and a lovely grain meant that it was easy to cut and devour, even with a poorly sharpened knife. Steak was served with a grilled half tomato and a portion of mushrooms. The side of chips was of adequate sizing, but while eating I couldn't help but feel something was missing from the steak shaped plate (a nice touch) - I cannot think what, but something was missing. Overall, it was a delicious meal in a well refurbished pub. Amazing friendly service which left nothing to be desired. I will return to The Fox and Hounds.
Really friendly staff, and the food is decent enough. The reason I've marked it down, is because I don't think it's good value. I live in London, normally eat out often and am used to paying a lot for food (so this isn't the shock of the price in itself). Sadly, I'm not sure the food represents good value; it doesn't seem worth the price. Having said this, the lunch menu is good value I think, and the pub itself is really lovely inside.
Exceptional steaks perfectly grilled! It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. I will definitely visit again.
Amazing, been a few times over the last year or so and we are never disappointed. Would recommend to anyone who loves a steak
