Visited for a cold beer and a seat in the luvly sunshine. Entry up an alley, then walk through the bar to get outside. Contact details taken on entering. Friendly welcome from staff, a busy place, nice view of The Square , enjoyed our cold beers, food we saw being served look good, a pleasant visit

Went in for lunch and light bite and the place was quiet and only a few locals having a drink in. We were met by a friendly staff and all covid precautions taken. Food was fresh and tasty and a relaxed atmosphere
Nice little place with friendly helpful staff. We took advantage of the kids eat for 1 with a paying adult offer. I had an 8oz rump steak, it was a nice steak if a little more medium than I would have liked, and my wife had the coronation chicken which she said was very nice. They did tell us we would probably have a wait when we ordered as there was a large party right before us, and I think it's always nice for a server to let you know in advance. Turns out we didn't actually have to wait, our food came out quickly.
Food was ok, pub grub, I enjoyed it, we went back at night for a drink thinking it would close at 10pm as per the covid rules. The owner wasn't there, so I don't know what he would think of his staff closing at 8-30, when it was still relatively busy. When I have 14/15 people in my beer garden, \ I own a pub\ I wouldn't be shutting shop and kicking them out, just saying. We were enjoying the drink and it ruined our experience there, as we were just getting chatting to the locals. One had just bought a round of fireball shots as it was surprisingly last orders, we had never heard of this shot. We said to them what is that, and the boy added us to his round, he bought my wife and I one each. I offered to buy them and everyone sitting there that wanted one straight back and asked for 12. The male server said no, so that was it, we had to go back to Moness resort and spend our money there. Trust me, I would not be happy if my staff had done that. Great wee bar tho, with great customers, so wouldn't stop me going back, the staff weren't rude, if anything they were nice, just a bit too prompt with last orders.
Disappointing really, despite extremely friendly staff and good location food below standards. Fish and chips frozen but priced like fresh, soup of the day tasteless. Shame, especially the next door take away offers delicious fresh fish for much lower price.
