Amazingly well crafted and presented food. Delicious, local ingredients, we try to make the journey once a year and it's always superb. This year I had a simple roast chicken and and it was so much better than any chicken dinner I've ever eaten. My three fussy toddlers all enjoyed their meals. Also a brilliant, welcoming atmosphere and a great location. Out of the way but we'll worth the journey.

Went here on a week night and as soon as we walked in there was a lovely cosy feel to the restaurant, first we were seated by a fireplace with comfy chairs and we're offered drinks and menus. The staff were all very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. When shown to our table we were presented with some fresh bread and balsamic vinagar before our first Course, the food was absolutely delicious, from the presentation to the flavours coming through each dish. Would definitely recommend visiting here, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Fantastic little gem of a pub. We stopped here on our way home from Cornwall to London and I would highly recommend you take a detour off the M5 if you're passing. Lovely independent pub with a beautiful garden, super friendly service and phenomenal food. All their ingredients are locally sourced and they have a veg patch in the garden. The chips were second to none, could easily have been served in a Michelin starred restaurant or top London gastro pub. Super fresh, super tasty and all home cooked. Great value too. Wish we lived nearer.
Called into the five bells on a Tuesday night thought I'd give it a try used to go there about 10 years ago . walked through the door greeted by a very pleasant young man and young lady they were both very polite I had half a ale at the bar went through both menus the special and the bar menu decided on scotch egg to start with followed by baked cod on a tomato onion olive pine nut sauce served with a portion of greens, both were very pleasant ,it all together came out as a reasonable 22
Absolutely lovely gastro pub serving lovely beverages and excellent food. Great staff and service and accommodating. A lovely menu with an additional specials menu. Highly recommended. Enjoy. We did...and we'll be back.
