The worst fish and chips I've ever had! I'm not sure why there is a sign that says \world famous\ world famous for being horrible maybe? The portions are 10.98 each, and when we opened the boxes it looked like an anemic fish finger! The chips tasted liked they had been cooked the night before and reheated and were so greasy. They left a horrible taste in our mouth and made us feel queasy the rest of the day. Really wouldn't recommend, I've paid a lot less for much nicer fish and chips.

The car park prices are much higher than you'd expect if you plan on spending some time here. Better to park over at Bawdsey where it's free and the cafe looks nicer too.

Visited here for the 1st time yesterday, as fancied fish and chips..... The cafe was open but wanted a takeaway. Even though there was no one waiting to be served stood and waited at the hatch 10 minutes before the 2 waitresses playing on their phone bothered to acknowledge me, and then they had to be prompted to serve me by the waitress making a coffee, no bother I wasn't in a rush. Anyhow ordered cod/chips no sauce 10.95. Only had to wait 10 minutes... came in a nice box containing wooden knife/fork and sachets of salt, sachets of vinegar available on the table outside. This has to be the smallest portion of fish and chips I've ever had and have to admit the worse, the fish resembled a long fishfinger, batter was pale and soggy and the chips were inedible, bright orange and just oozing fat, no white potato visible inside, just lots of oil think they must have been refried a good few times the lot went in the bin. Such a shame as had high hopes for them. For those planning on visiting lots of outdoor tables with a view of the public toilets which can't be helped...and cafe itself looked pretty, had a ramp for disabled access, bottle of hand gel on table outside. Disappointed
