The 4 of us had a lovely experience in this newly refurbished and re-established pub. Very covid conscious, great beverage selection, food simple but absolutely blooming fabulous! Quality food, fresh, tasty and piping hot! If you continue with such high standards we'll deffo continue to support and recommend!
Very disappointed tonight. Been going to this wonderful pub for over 40 years, even had my wedding reception there. All landlords/ladies excellent, staff, fabulous! So what went wrong tonight? Great service, just wanted early doors drink, but when it came to pay, would not except cash unless I accepted no change. Cash is as far as I know legal tender. So why will they accept my cash but not give me change? Is this not deceptive? Not everyone has a card, how would they treat an OAP who just had cash? Well, we were. We looked when we came in to see if there were restrictions regarding cash/card only payments, none. At no time during ordering were we advised that payment had to be by card. Very upset! When Lorrie and her family had this pub, they would inform you beforehand of any such matters. I and everyone I know who support our local pubs want you to survive, we want to come as much as we can but we don't need to be treated like this.
Can’t rate this pub highly enough! They hosted us last weekend for our seated wedding reception. We were placed at socially distant tables and felt very safe. Excellent service from all the team, the food and drinks were delicious, and they catered well for small children too! We are so grateful for all your help and flexibility (when the rules kept changing during planning), you really saved the day!
First time here. The Mrs got smashed. The Beef sunday roast was awesome. Eton Mess even better. She won't stop going on about the hummus and pitta bread. Great range of drinks avaialble for all tastes it seemed. Well set up for Covid, with 'snugs' created for all. The waiters could not do enough for us. Top level banter, and some terrible jokes. Will be back, thanks!
