The food this evening for our anniversary meal was sensational. Haute cuisine. The hake starter was out of this world. We will return. Many thanks!

I can honestly say that the lamb rump meal was one of the best main courses I've ever eaten! Fantastic. And why can't the staff be as friendly and professional as you were last night everywhere else life would be so much more pleasurable. Thanks for a fantastic evening

This pub could be so great but it just isn’t. A few things stood out for us. It was unnecessarily hard to book. It took 5 calls and 4 voicemails over 5 days to book a table for 4, when we were completely flexible on timings. By the time they’d confirmed, there was only space left outside. The baked Camembert was black all over on top and had the texture of curdled egg (I don’t know if they’d accidentally grilled it?!). The burger was cold and came without onion rings. When we chased, 3 onion rings turned up 15 minutes later. They’d printed the wrong menu so the dessert list was wrong, we only found that out after ordering and then the waiting staff being turned back by the kitchen. The waiting staff were polite but hadn’t been briefed on the content of the rest of the menu at all. I’d recommend looking at alternatives.

Perfect village pub and restaurant. It's clean and cosy, not cramped and dingy. Open fire, decent beer, pleasant atmosphere and the restaurant does very nice food without being pretentious. Views of the church are great too. Staff are friendly and attentive. Summer BBQs in the good sized garden.
