The Dorset Childrens Foundation

I run the Poole Charity Dart League which runs through the summer months raising money for local charities & good causes in the main. Unfortunately this last summer was wiped out by Covid but I was contacted by one of the dart team captains showing me cheques which had been mislaid & never cashed both made out to DCF totalling 400. It was a great pleasure to write out a replacement cheque which I sent direct asking that a receipt for the donation be sent to the team captain. It was a nice surprise to get a note from the charity thanking me for sending the donation & a receipt would be sent as requested. Now some may say 'so what' but here's the thing this charity does a huge amount to help those children and their families who need a helping hand & to take the time and trouble to send me a thank you note was special. I have helped run the league for a few years now, the last two alone & I could count the number of 'Thank You' notes on one hand so to get this one was special especially as they are so busy. So if you are looking for a cause to support keep them in mind whether its a pound or a hundred they will use your donation wisely.

If you're seriously low income, this shop has a little bit of absolutely everything second hand. I've actually donated a lot to these guys.

If there was ever a cause you should get behind and support Dorset Children's Society is it. They have a few secondhand shop's which raises money for amazing causes. It's run by a beautiful, heart warming couple who dedicate most of their lives too this great cause. I have to mention there manger jayne as she is great fun and a heart bigger than anyone I know. They have always a variety of ways of raising money from skydiving to dinners. There shops also help people in the community as well as raising money for this great cause. I could never do it justice by my words but I would like to give them a big thank you as they have shown me so much about helping myself by helping others. They will always be close to my heart and people I will always look up too.
