Pies - all flaky pastry except 2, homity is delicious as is the steak n kidney which has the most flavoursome gravy. The chicken pie used to be good when it was oval and had a good amount of filling - now its round and tiny amount of filling- avoid.Avoid traditional pasties- stodgy pappy filling. Vegan sausage roll- well done trying- but it's a failure- tasteless.. did you consult with a vegan?! Pizzas are very tasty. Try the mince pies, battenburg, portland doughbuns. Filled rolls are great value, cakes - recommend Apple and custard turnovers, custard slice and lardy. A lot of the cakes are very synthetic ... choose carefully! Bread is reasonably, much better then supermarket. Just wish they'd tweak and modernise the menu, look at quality of some of the produce, bring it up to the 21st century!
