We stumbled across this pub when we were out for a elatively flat\ walk (private joke). It was cosy, the beers and cider were awesome and a great price also. Having hiked back from the pub in the dark the night before, taking our life into our hands, the Landlord took it upon himself to make sure we all got back safely the second time, thank you Pete and Abi (Not sure if that's how you spell it) for your hospitality, see you next year ....

There seems to be only 2 places to drink alcohol in Montgomery. The Dragon Hotel and The Crown. Dragon Hotel is like an Agatha Christie pub, Crown is like your local type pub. One cheap and the other has plenty of ambience (my word for expensive) I know which I prefer but you can make your own mind up if you visit.

A lovely quiet pub for all the family. A varied selection of beers, ciders and wines with a large array of spirits. They have plenty of different drinks for kids, fizzy and non fizzy. I was passing by while on holiday with my friends we went straight through to the garden area as we had small kids with us. As we walked back in to make an order the barman and the other customers who I'm guessing were locals were very inviting and so pleasant. The barman told me where the local pale ales were brewed and was up for a chat and a laugh. It was a great environment and made me come back the following day just for a quick pint. The outside area was clean and tidy. The barman came out with some parasols to help shade the younger ones and our pregnant friend. All in all it was a perfect stop for a round of beers with your mates or just a quick drink with the family. I'll definitely be stopping back at the Crown Inn if I pass through again in the future.
