My brother and I booked a table for lunch today, on arrival I noted that the waitresses all had plastic facemasks on - well-done team, although not every member of staff was wearing a face covering. We were shown to our table, which was in an old alcove, very quaint (mind your head there). We ordered drinks (3 x Coke Zeros) but we were brought 3 x Diet Cokes, which is not the same as Zero, so I sent mine back as the additives in Diet Coke plays hell with my blood sugars. The carvery meal was most delightful, the carrots were so soft they melted away in my mouth, the peas were cooked to my ideal specification, the beef was ever so tasty, lean and mouthwateringly moist as was the turkey. The roast potatoes were HUGE four was more than enough for me, and that Yorkshire which looked like a castle turret was so fluffy and tasty. The staff were very attentive, one came over to see how the meal was before I had even put a fork to a pea. I asked to see the dessert menu after polishing off the main meal, a waitress returned and told me the items available, I opted for good old fashioned apple crumble (crumble crumble) - WHO PUTS SULTANAS IN APPLE CRUMBLE?? - I did not eat it, although I did taste the crumble which was deliciously buttery and I could happily have had a bowl full of that alone. Overall a good dining experience - thank you very much

Went for Father’s Day lunch for their Carvery. Plenty of food, selection of three types of meats, large vegetable selection. Yorkshire puds homemade. Well priced. Very friendly staff, great service. Clean. Enough parking place. Booking essential.
Very good menu for a Monday evening! The meal I had was delightful.
Lovely old pub. Family ran and they make the effort to introduce themselves. They serve Corona lager on tap which is a rare thing in Somerset. Food was really lovely, veg however had seen better days. Food was very limited, but due to the current situation. No menus, just a specials board. Waiting staff and bar staff seemed flustered and disorganised, however still came to check on us throughout our meal. No itemised receipt given as the billing process is done the old fashioned way with pen and paper. Overall, a lovely experience in a family ran pub.
The food was really good and the pub was popular. Despite being so busy the service was excellent. Very friendly staff. Dog friendly.
