I count the Criterion as one of my locals, even if I do live in Sussex. This really is a great 'locals' pub with a very eclectic clientele, great real ales and a fab gin selection. Big thanks for a good night last Friday and to Aleisha for ensuring we didn't go dry!!

Friendly local pub serving good beer. Usually seem to have three real ales on. Think there was also a real cider last time. Nice place for a quiet afternoon drink. Tele out the back was showing a World Cup game but very unobtrusive. You wouldn't know if you were sitting in the front. Cool cat stencil on the front.
I went into this pub around 12 months ago and found it very welcoming with good ale. So thought I’d go back today. When I went up to the the bar he said only regulars allowed to drink inside and that I would have to drink outside. I left disgusted. This is not the way to run a pub and treat customers.
Always feel welcome when I walk through the doors. Lovely staff and great beer. Couldn't ask for more
