Covid measures seem good. Liked the app and order system, very easy. Food was as expected and they do nice deals. Very spacious and well laid out. They need a staff member at the door just to explain whats going on and also what tables are clean or not. Sever needs a lesson in charm school, dropped the plates down and walked off just stating your food.

Seats were horribly stained on our visit, Abbott ale was off sale, my second choice of ale wasn't \bright and clear\, third time lucky. Staff were busy discussing how the bad weather would be good for them and bring them less customers. It breakfast was pretty good, it would have helped if was served onto hot plates though.

Spent several hours here this weekend and I have to say it’s been an absolute pleasure. Not only have I sank several incredibly affordable pints here (including a Greene King IPA, local brew and the reason my granny owns a house), I’ve wolfed down two veggie breakfasts and witnessed a 10-man bar brawl. Service is impeccable, especially for my app-using friend who prefers to order his food and drink without interacting with people. Oh yeah, the decor and design of this Spoons is incredible! It’s palatial and beautiful and historic. I feel like my time in Bury St Edmonds has been well spent!

Went there on the 17th Dec, sat down waiting to be served. 30 minutes later, I got up to find a waiter, a young lady said i will be with you in 2 minutes. We waited for a further 15 minutes, then got up & walked out. There were groups of 3 to 4 waiters standing around talking to the side of the bar most of the times while we were in there. If it was packed out I would have been more tolerant but there was quite a few empty tables. It will be a long time before I will go back if ever.
