Cod cooked as it should be, very thin and crisp batter, fish white and not grey, boneless and skinless too, unlike that in a lot of other fish and chip shops. The chips are good as well. The staff are always pleasant, cheerful and friendly. I heartily recommend The Contented Sole.

We highly recommend this fish and chip as it met so many of our family's dietary requirements, Including vegan.
Staff are often lovely and warm and open to help, service is astronomically amazing. Food is often great quality as well, with the odd portion stuck to the paper but can be forgiven for the variety and quality of the menu.
Delicious fish and chips takeaway. The large chips are very large but that is not a bad thing. Parking can be difficult as it is just along the road. Decent menu size as well.
My local chip shop, friendly staff and brilliant food, they deserve 6 stars
