Went for a meal first time since lock down lifted Service great and so was the meal. They couldn't provide the turkey lunch we had booked for 7 months ago but it was still no problem with the food we had off the Restaurant menu. I had duck that was excellent and so was the starters and pudding overall very pleased.

Was over 30 degrees today and staff worked very hard. Took advantage of the \eat out to help out\ scheme, so maybe that's why it seemed busy. We sat inside but plenty of outdoor seats. Had lovely walk in churchyard opposite with Teddy

Ahh...the Compton Inn...where do I begin? Well, great surroundings, pleasant interior and decor. A good fire kept in and popular for eating out. Not adventurous in their ales, but reasonably well kept. You won't go wrong with the Compton...it just needs a little more...zest?
Amazing food, lovely staff and not very expensive, tucked away but worth finding definitely. We will be going back next time we visit the area.
