Great beer and excellent food, dog friendly too for an additional bonus! The bar staff were warm and welcoming, and the beer and food were excellent. Good choice of ales and a good menu to choose from. The chef came out and explained the specials to us. We ordered 2 duck specials and burger. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the burger was better than your average pub fare. Would definitely recommend The Commercial for either a drink or or food.
Booked Sunday lunch in advance to coincide with our holidays. We ate the Roast Beef and seasonal vegetables and it was the best beef I had tasted in years, nice thick tender meat on a wood platter, with lovely gravy. Great service and well recommended. Only downside is the restaurant part can get a little noisy and distracting, drinks are a little pricey too.
My partner and I ate at The Commercial tonight and we cannot praise the Chef highly enough. Due to an earlier large party, all veggie food had been eaten, however he came out , had a chat and then produced possibly one of the best instant homemade burger my partner had ever eaten! My lamb was delicious too! Top Mark's, we will return.
Just had my wife's 50th there. Food was excellent, atmosphere too. I can highly recommend this pub for a special occasion. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely friendly staff.
