Homely, friendly free house pub serving good pub grub.

Stopped here on a road trip because we were hungry and it looked nice. What a great place! The staff are amazing, the food is lovely; pub grub at great prices and generous portions. The real ale is lovely and again, the staff are awesome. Well worth a visit

A good range of freshly cooked food and sandwiches, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and every care is taken with social distancing, hygiene and safety. Having visited a few years back, we made a point of stopping here to break a five hour journey, then called in on the way back a couple of days later, supposedly for a snack, but ended up with a lovely Sunday roast.

10 pound for pre sliced chewey beef and frozen roast potatoes. Yorkshire puds seem homemade but then kept under a heat lamp so overly crisp and a bit oily but probably the best part of the meal to be fair. Everything else needs serious improvement.

Was staying in the village for a week on holiday and visited four times. Lovely beers and ciders, great food with many rotating specials. The friendliest pub in Dorset! Special mention must go to the pub quiz which was an absolute delight with questions for all ages and a lovely vibe for tourists and locals alike. What a gem!
