Can not recommend these guys highly enough!! Came to our rescue when we had lost the keys to our flat, they were with us and had us back into our flat within 30 minutes of calling, they then fitted a brand new lock to our door. I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonable the price was, being how late it was. Thank you for very much!

Judging from the other (positive) reviews, I can only assume this place has changed hands. I contacted The City Locksmith to force entry to my flat, as the bottom lock had broken. Aaron (not the Alex mentioned in other reviews?) was able to do this fairly easily, and then charged me to fit a replacement Yale lock I had already purchased. However, when it came to leaving the flat that day, we had the exact same issue we had had before we called. We couldn’t lock it from the outside! It only worked from the inside. I contacted The City Locksmith again but couldn’t get hold of anyone (despite the claim of 24/7 hour service). Aaron then messaged me on Monday, saying he had been working in London since Saturday night, and that’s why he hadn’t responded (??) He came out to look at the lock on Tuesday (I was at work so had family members at the flat to let him in), but said it was fine, and he was able to lock/unlock it with pressure. When I received the key back, it was completely broken, so unusable. I have since contacted The City Locksmith to try and resolve this but am being told that – because they only fitted (not supplied) the Yale lock – there is nothing they can do, and the lock itself must be faulty. I find this extremely difficult to believe due to the above chain of events. I am back to the exact same place I was in, just 150 worse off...! I have since offered to pay for a replacement lock supplied by The City Locksmith in an attempt to get this resolved, but am now receiving no response. I have no choice but to get this fixed by a more reputable locksmith at my own additional cost. In conclusion, I would avoid this business like the plague. The level of expertise is clearly not where it should be, and the customer service is abysmal!
I was really impressed with the service Alex provided. He was friendly and professional. It shouldn't need saying in the 21st century, but it's still positive to meet guys who don't patronise women when talking about vans etc. Would highly recommend.
