Fabulous quality food in the most impressive ancient building. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a larger group. The atmosphere is subdued and calm and the service is excellent. Can't wait for lock down to be over so we can go there again!

Only single experience. During pandemic somewhat subdued atmosphere in reachly decorated, flamboyant setting. I enjoyed the velvet and dark rustic joinery, service people smiling with their eyes under the masks. Bar area was very busy serving drinks and slightly more stressed out than the rest of the restaurant. I would imagine that lack on space dictates such notion. Food was melting in my mouth and desserts were seducing. Warm and with tasteful art display. Do we have a future to dream about???
Beautiful delicious food and fantastic service. The set menu was well worth the money - 2 courses 17.95 & 3 courses 21.95. The most outstanding dish for me was the grilled plaice, so soft, tender and flavoursome with the perfect touch of hollandaise sauce. Good portion for the price. Will definitely recommend to everyone looking for a nice culinary experience.
Best meal we had in ages. Just after the lock down ended in December. The venison carpaccio was a fine treat for the taste buds. The glass of red was excellent. Very nice desserts. I couldn't fault it.
Top quality super cosy French inspired old-fashioned English restaurant. Great menu, great wine list, grown-up educated service. Most recommended.
