Love the \Rat\ ! As a 35 year neighbor of the Rathskeller we were regulars back in the day and were addicted to the frosty brews ( plunked on the table with an ice crown gliding up from the lip of the mug) and the monster plate of fries. In the new incarnation the rat still has it! Sometimes a wait when its crowded but we are usually not in any hurry as long as the beer arrives.
We've been going here since our college days in the 70's. It's our go to for a casual night out and holidays. This was our first Covid times restaurant dining. The outside tables were spaced very far apart and they did everything according to best practices. Their food is all very good and there is a variety - something for everyone. Their fries are a specialty!
The food is always good. The loaded fries (with the cheese dip) were very tasty!
