No idea why there is a photo of somewhere called the Neptune as the key photo for the Castle Inn. Don't be put off, that pic isn't even of the Castle Inn so dunno why Google Maps have selected it.... First visit to this establishment and sat in the large, dog friendly beer garden at the back. Tried the Gamebird and what a delicious and perfect pint! Smooth, creamy, mellow beer and had been poured well too, by someone who knows how to pull and serve a pint. Comes from the micro brewery Born In the Borders. Absolutely yum. Social distancing measures in place. Table service both inside and out. Went back for a second visit and slurp, rude not to. Had carrot and coriander soup and a portion of chips. Thick, creamy and very good soup. Very reasonably priced food. Would definitely go back. Staff very friendly. Hope they keep the Gamebird on as it's such a lovely drop.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed it there. The scampi and chips were delicious, the staff were very friendly and chatty and the overall atmosphere is cool and relaxed. Our food didn’t take long arriving at the table and the place can get quite busy which shows its popularity. We really enjoyed our meal and next time we’re in Bamburgh we’d go again. I recommend coming here.

Stopped at the Inn for lunch during our long beach walk to Bamburgh Castle. Loved the fish&chips and fish cakes with chilli sauce. Quick service, nothing to fault. There is a beer garden outside.

This pub/restaurant was a little further than the one nearest to the castle meaning it was quieter and less stressful at the time. We were glad that we ended up here as the staff were great and the food choice for pescatarians like us, even from a temporary menu, was ideal. I had the bouillabaisse and it was lovely.

Totally adequate pub. Food was maybe overpriced, as it did seem like maybe it had been defrosted, but of course other dishes might be better. We were seated and served promptly. Also the payment policy is either put a card behind the bar or pay before your meal arrives which was a bit odd to me. The room was clean and bright.
