Went for a lovely lunch with the family and have to say it's a lovely pub with friendly staff and the food was superb. Great variety of food, catering for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. Lovely choice of puddings too with a great selection of ice-creams. Would highly recommend The Carpenters Arms, welcoming atmosphere and a lovely pub
Terribly short staffed therefore food portions weren't complete as they ran out of veg. There was one waitress who single handed had to serve meals and ran the bar!!! On her own!!! She was exhausted. A big shout out to her for trying to be cheerful. The Carpenters Arms does not deserve such a fabulous worker. Shame on them to have treated her in such a way! They would have got zero stars if it wasn't for her.
Visited this pub tonight and what a complete disappointment and waste of money it turned out to be, the chicken curry was tasteless, steak & ale pie was cold and the cod over cooked. I returned the pie only to have it sent back Luke warm with cold veg. Should have read the reviews and taken note of how empty it was on a Saturday bank holiday evening. Use to have a good name but sadly no more, will never return again.
Remember it well from my army days at Lufton Camp .nice visit and we have a lovely meal .Thanks very much .Decent price as well .cheers .
