Once again, great meal at our favourite restaurant. I can't fault service or the food. Very welcoming with a great bunch of customers. It's comfy and cosy with a warm atmosphere. Soon to be open on Saturday evenings and I can't wait to try out the menu.

We love it. The fish and chips on a Friday night is lovely, but go for lynch too! A different menu every day and you're made to feel so welcome. We've been 3 times now and will return many more. :D

We have returned to France for an Autumn break and plenty of visits to The California. As always the food has been excellent both in quality & presentation. Try it for yourselves, you won't be disappointed and you will most certainly get a very warm welcome !!

This is our Friday lunchtime haunt whenever we are in France. If you like a really good meal (Friday is Steak & Chips day) this is the place to visit. The quality is excellent & cooked to perfection. The service is first class and you get a very warm welcome. 3 Course Lunchtime Special, wine & coffee 15 Exceptional value for money without a doubt. We highly recommend it. June 2019 and we have returned to France. The weather is abysmal, but the warm welcome & the great service definitely cheers us up! The quality of the food is as good as always, the only difference we have noted on this visit is the menu has become more varied & wine is no longer included in the price. 3 Course Lunchtime Menu with Coffee is still 15 and represents excellent value for money.

The California is a really welcoming bar/restaurant with excellent food , a good range of drinks - including Guinness - very reasonably priced and a great mix of French and English regular customers. Highly recommended. The fish and chips on Friday night is legendary. Best phone ahead to book. I hope to see you there soon!

Fantastic restaurant and bar. Serves coffee too. The food is the best. The owners are so kind and generous. Try it out, you won't be disappointed. Best book for dinner and fish and chips on a Friday night. Recently changed ownership and completely refurbished. I've been there numerous times and have never been let down.

Went friday evening. Only serve fish and chips or pie and chips. Both absolutely perfect. Would go again
