Lovely find! After a wet and muddy walk, had a warm welcome and a roaring fire! Food was amazing and massive portions. Highly recommended and we will be back

Visited this old, country pub a few weeks ago. Amazing menus. The Barnsley Chop is to die for, 16ounce, and cooked to perfection. Lovely, happy and friendly staff. The pub was very busy, would suggest booking in advance. Local brewed ale was excellent. Also has beer garden at rear, pub is also dog friendly.
during covid-19 pandemic, we arrived the pub on 3:45pm after a tiring hike at Lathkill Dale. there are plenty outside seats at the back and there is playground for kids. the trout and toffee pudding are tasty. but the beef in yorkie pudding was tough.
Busy local pub. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Dog friendly. Pleasant staff and did I mention fantastic food. I ordered a rare steak which was cooked to perfection.I would highly recommend this pub.a great pint of Guinness as well.
Love coming here for the mixed grill. Good quality meat and hearty portions. Love that you get a potato and side choice and the steak and kidney gravy is lush. The staff are out of this world and so lovely and friendly and good choice of beers. Can't recommend this place enough
