My brother Joe, sister Lill, and I, all went to Sacred Heart and Joe went to St. Joseph's when he entered 4th grade in 1962. That summer we moved to Long Island and had to go to public school. We were all far ahead of the kids in the new school because we had been taught to read properly by the Sisters at Sacred Heart, the Brothers at St. Joe's, and my mother pictured below.

Very loving caring school. My Grandchild has learned a lot while attending this school. The children are also well behaved. I love their security guard she knows all of the children and their parents thus making me feel my child is in good hands when I drop her off. This school is a Precious Gem in the Bronx

I miss this place REALLY I do. I was there in the mid 60s and had good memories. I was an altar boy for 2 yrs. I was there from 1st grade to 8th . U kids think u have it tough now. Hmm U wouldn't have made it back then. It made me who I am 2day. Responsible, Respectful, Successful. So don't give up and work hard it's worth it. It makes life easier in the long run... CHIEF from Nelson Ave !!!

Found cases of beer on the auditorium stage while picking up my child. The receptionist claimed that the beer didn't belong to the school and that they had no control over the people who put that there. She then went on to say that children are not allowed on the stage... That was a lie. I had gone back in to take my child into the bathroom and there were little boys playing tag on the stage. Honestly though? I'm not really impressed with anything else either, the building seems to be falling apart, the staff is rude and of course nobody seemed to really care about there being beer where a child can easily reach it. I mean, if a student brings in beer they get suspended but if it mysteriously materializes then there's no issue? I've been in public schools run better than this. I've been in teen shelters run better than this. I can go as far as to say I've been to church basement summer camps ran better than this. Absolutely disgraceful.
