3 of us popped in for lunch just as it opened for the day, so we were seated quickly and where we wanted. This is the first time at the Brae and the place is really nice. We opted for the 2 course lunch menu as we were just in for a quick bite and nothing special. And 'nothing special' it certainly was. I ordered the broccoli & stilton soup for starters but was overpowered by salt at first then a kick of pepper further in. Unfortunately I had to leave most if it. Mentioned it to the girl serving us but it must have fell on deaf ears as nothing else was said. The main I chose was sausage and mash and going off the overlay screens in the restaurant, what I got was not even close. Nevertheless I got 2 sausages on a dollop of mash with lumpy gravy. The real chef must have been on holiday today. Shame

Cosy, friendly and grub they offer is really nice. Not a large selection but nice none the less. Staff were attentive. I'd definitely recommend to go try if you want to go out for something to eat but don't want to dress up for a fancy restaurant

me and my boyfriend went here for our dinner recently and we were blown away! the food here is fabulous and at such a good price too, we had great cocktails and a lovely steak dinner that came with sauce, chips, mushrooms, tomato and onion rings. the portion is nice and filling so I was glad to not have a starter however we shared a home made raspberry and lemon cheese cake and it definitely was the cherry on top of the cake to top off out last night in the area. 10/10 we even discussed about travelling back through just to go for dinner again here.

Lovely place where I had the prawn tempura with a sweet chilli dip. It was nice. However we were 8 people and had ordered the food before coming to the restaurant and still had to wait 30 minutes! It was inconvenient. The burgers looked excellent and the calamari too. Will go back to get a better idea of the place and food.
