Staff were very nice and welcoming and the garden is lovely for relaxing in. Lots of families with dogs on the day we were there. Apparently the pub is now under new management. Drinks selection was good for alcohol but poor for drivers with only a nonalcoholic cider available, alongside the usual cokes, lemonades, J2Os and so on. Food selection is typical pub fare, steak, pies, lamb curry. There is a butternut squash dish for veggies. Starters are good with the risotto a highlight. The starters could serve as a main for those with smaller appetites. Quality is average however and food arrived to the table lukewarm to cold. While the pub is in no danger of winning any awards for its food, the portions were extremely generous and had the food be arrived hot could have been considered good. Perhaps the pub needs a pass to keep food warm while the rest of the order is prepared? They definitely need a grill or griddle rather than frying pan for the steaks. So a few things here or there could quickly raise this pub from average to good!

Food is very lovely! Risotto and king prawn are top notch
Travelling back from Cornwall and stopped here for a much needed lunch... So glad we did!!! The meat pie was phenomenal and certainly did fill a hole.
A very warm welcome by the new team. So pleased that they are carrying on the high quality of fayre they've inherited. We've missed having The Boot to visit. Well done!
Friendly owners, a good range of food and drinks to enjoy on a warm day!
