Its funny but although we live close ...for most of the summer this pub is a no go area. Too busy, too brash, too noisy. But....today, in early September, on a tranquil peaceful afternoon, halfway through our walk, it was perfect. Well...nearly...apart from the exorbitant London prices of 6.10 for a Birra Moretti lager!! The place was chilled out and my expectations of the inside were unfounded, its actually quite nice and a good decor. Social distancing was to the fore and treated seriously. Good service too. We sat outside in the garden and ate our cheesy chips and took in the glorious views with the added bonus of the Queen Mary 2 liner anchored in Labrador bay not 3 miles away.....all very pleasant.....

Great sea views, staff are always on hand and helpful. Great pub food, value is good for the coast tourist place, you are paying for the pub closest to the dawlish Warren coast. Plenty of good beers on draught and great food options year round.

The staff were very polite and welcoming upon entering. Adhered to social distancing and also took precautions inside with screens at the tables. They were very good with our 16 month old daughter, cleaned and sanitised the highchair before she used it and interacted well with us and her. The food was very nice and all was hot, not some bits cold as we ordered a large breakfast. They prepared food for our daughter to her portion size and only charged for the size given. We were very impressed with the service we received from the kind and happy guys and gals in this little cafe. Would highly recommend

Visited 3.8.20 during the eat out to help out scheme. Placed food order at 7pm and was told there would be up to a 45 minute wait, about 7.30 we were asked if we had placed our food order as they were closing the kitchen as it was so busy. Lots of people were asking when there food was arriving as they hadn't received it, they were so busy but always very friendly too, our food eventually came at 8.30 but was definitely worth the wait. The chips were to die for. All food was nice and hot and very tasty, hardly anything was left on the plate at the end of the meal. This meal was for 5 adults with drinks and should have cost 103.75 but ended up costing just 43.33 .. that was GOV discount scheme and also NHS discount..yes both can be used together. Would highly recommend this place. Bearing in mind everything being different with covid, the business of the place, it was well run, good social distancing and cleanliness, very friendly and great food. Would highly recommend.

Make sure you go there!! Very tasty food, big portions. Everything I have eaten there has been really tasty. House is always full, but you get your food still pretty fast. Nice stuff, nice view. Favorite place in the area :)
