Great spot for a drink and light lunch to escape from the cold and raining weather after a wet hike around Tarns How :-) Cafe had a great selection of hot drinks and alcohol accompanied by toasters, sandwiches, soups and hot dishes. Gourmet burger and fries was a treat and the hot tomato and pepper soup was well received by my little ones :-) Views were stunning of Coniston Waters. We enjoyed seeing the gondola zoom pass with its little puffy steam engine ;-) we were lucky to get a glimpse of sunshine that we totally enjoyed and snap a few nice photos of the lake.

Superb place to visit, lovely staff, excellent food and drink but none of it compares to the views. If you don't want the occasional wet dog shaking on you then sit inside. If our four legged friends don't bother you then get closer to the water.
Lovely cafe we went here twice in three days. Lovely food, friendly staff and clean facilities. Would highly recommend in any weather. View is lovely too !
Very near the river. Great river view and food. Food price is bit expensive. But great! They have a bakery and sandwich options as well. Lots of choice of beverages.
This is my second visit to this lovely little café nestling on the banks of Coniston Water. A choice of indoor or outdoor seating, the café has a good menu and lovely home made cakes. On a glorious day, such as ours, you could almost hear and see the noise and atmosphere that once surrounded the place as Donald Campbell once raced up and down the lake. Heading back up into coniston Donald is laid to rest in the new parish cemetery Hawkshead old road.
