Good bacon butties. Would it hurt to be a bit more customer-focused though? Why do the people behind the counter seem to need to finish their conversations before noticing you?

Fab location. Lovely little place to visit all year around. You can get everything from a pot of tea to hot 'bistro' food, cold drinks... crabbing buckets, bacon and all sort of Mersea keepsakes. Great cafe food, lovely items. My daughter loves to pop in for their refreshing ice creams and I love their bread pudding. Highly recommended for all!
Really abrupt and rude female waitress. Approached the counter told to sit down as it was table service and that we would have to wait as there were others in front of us. There were empty tables but uncleared food items on them. We sat down at one of them and were told off again in a very agitated tone that we shouldn’t have sat down as the table needed sanitizing first and it was government rules . Voted with our feet and left the premises. Have been there once before and the staff were lovely. On this occasion it marred our day.
Overpriced cafe in prime location for the jetty with small shop selling things like crabbing nets. Nothing special.
Lovely cafe on West Mersea. Breakfast was tasty & good. Recommend & will go back.
