I'll start by saying we never leave reviews for anything, but seeing how misled we were by the reviews for this place we felt it's our duty to inform people. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and serve you with a smile. The building is beautiful. The atmosphere is okay. The food however is without a doubt the worst pub food all of us (party of 6) have ever eaten. Everything is frozen and overcooked. We mistook the fried calamari for old mozzarella sticks... Extremely bland and horrendously over priced for what it is. The chef (or 'reheater') must have no passion for food, and we actually left feeling quite offended at what we had been served. There are a few reviews on here that echo my sentiments, and the rest of the reviews that are positive must be from people who have never left the area. This place has a great potential, the ONLY thing letting it down is the food, and it let's it down big time. If you like frozen and reheated food from Bookers then this is the place for you, otherwise come in for a pint, but save your money and eat elsewhere.

Cozy old English country pub with nice menu including Sunday roast. Dog and kid friendly. Free parking and good selection of draft beers, cider, wine and spirits.
The staff really go all out to make your experience at the black pig a good one. iv been here a few times now and on every visit the barman has been fantastic at his job. historic cosy pub vibes perfect for walkers, family, foodies and anyone else for that matter. The Ale was brilliant
This pub is really nice. The service we received from happy, friendly staff was great. The food is disappointing. It is 13 for a main but the quality of about a 8/9 dish which was such a shame. It has great potential to be an awesome village pub. Please make the food better!
Loved our stay in The Black Pig, lovely people, comfortable rooms, if you needed anything you only had to ask, breakfast set you up for the day, then evening dining was superb. Quiet, rural, with a vineyard just up the road, which was supported by the pub, and the pub's own bespoke village shop
