I've visited The Black Lion twice since the restrictions have been lifted and on both occasions I was impressed. On our first visit we enjoyed their Sunday lunch. The beef dinner did its price justice and I would happily pay it again. On our second visit we shared the fish platter between us. Again the food and execution justified the price. The service is excellent and we were made to feel very welcome on both visits. The only thing I could criticise the Black Lion for would be its prices for soft drinks. By no means will this put us off another visit and we are looking forward to many more.

We had such a lovely time. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and the staff were polite, attentive and friendly. The young lad who served my parents and I was very well mannered, he knew when to come over to the table and when to leave us to eat and made us feel very welcome. After seeing the food on Instagram, we were eager to give it a try and we were not disappointed. 100% returning!
This is a true hidden gem. Totally professional staff who know what they are doing, without stressing you out with regards to Covid procedures. Amazing quality food cooked to perfection. My severe dairy allergy is not an issue at this wonderful pub.
The Black Lion has great food that's excellently cooked and looks great too. The prices are expensive though, so expect to be spending a a fair amount. Recently the owners have added a 10% service charge which is not announced ahead of ordering and only appears on the final bill. You can ask for this to be removed, do not be worried about doing so as it's a sneaky addition to an already pricey menu.
Amazing food and beautiful quality, with an ample portion size. Cannot fault on any grounds!.
