Love this Restaurant and been unable to go. We had Sunday Roast Beef Dinner x2 delivered on Sunday 24/01/21 and 1 Chocolate Sponge with mint custard. Oh my! They were fantastic., 3 generous slices of Roast Beef and all the trimmings on each dinner and the Dessert was Heavenly.

Went here with my wife for a meal.lovely bar area with a open fire.i had gammon egg And pineapple with onion rings and hand cooked chips.my wife had sirloin steak with pepper sauce. The food was gorgeous. For afters I had cheese cake with cream and the Chocolate pudding with mint sauce.would highly recommend this place.
We go here at least once every couple of months as the food is excellent, but for todays visit the service was the worst I've ever seen. When you over hear the service staff asking each other if I had ordered my meal as it hasn't been prepared and then for it to return to the kitchen as it was prepared but not how I'd asked ( it was returned by the waitress not me) then it was only because it was such a good standard of food that I give it a 3 on the rating as if it wasn't I would have given it a 1. Maybe if the staff were as attentive to the customers and not to listening for the prime ministers news bulletin then they might get it right and I might have given it a 5.

Amazing food, great hospitality and welcoming staff! Definitely a new favourite place to eat in the area! I'd had a recommendation about The Black Ladd from a friend so we decided to check it out, and we're very glad we did! We arrived just after opening time and the restaurant was already fully booked, so would definitely recommend calling and booking a place if you want to eat in the restaurant, however the bar area had a nice fire going and we were in scruffs, so that was fine for us! The service was super friendly, welcoming and prompt, and the food was divine! The special rag pudding was perfect! And I'm told the steak and Ale pie was similarly amazing, but I didn't get the chance to try it for myself! The dessert choice was massive! But we finally decided on the lotus Biscoff cheesecake and the special pudding of the moment, the Chocolate and Black Cherry Torte! We loved the choices we made, but sadly we'll have to go back soon to try the rest of the desserts... Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, but as stated, definitely worth booking in for a meal!
