This place is the bomb in terms of setting and food! Sits in a small hamlet in Oving (English countryside) and has existed since around 1524 with the main buildings still intact from then. On a sunny day their back garden rules for its ambiance and views. And no the name is not politically incorrect as it refers to a prior British king with a dark visage from around the time of its creation. Worth a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyable dining experience, even with covid precautions being taken very seriously, I felt at ease and safe. Food is delicious, the Sunday set menu is amazing. Staff are very hospitable and friendly. I've recommended to a few friends who have been since and they all agree it's a great pub/restaurant.
Great food, great beer, great environment. Staff very attentive and helpful. Dropped in for lunch while on a bike ride with friends. Highly recommended.
Unbelievable food and service. Friendly and chatty young staff members, the food was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant, completely blown away from the choice of ales to staff members to food quality.. Truly exceptional. If I could live in this village and eat there every day I would!!
