We are sure it is the best pub in England. Been coming for 45 years so still checking! Regular for a Saturday lunch of crusty rolls and a pint or two of Old Tiler from West Berkshire Brewery when we are allowed - superb combination. A traditional English pub. All credit to landlord Hugh and his team.

Awesome. Don't come here expecting a noisy sports bar. The Bell is a wonderful time capsule reminding us what village pubs used to be like in a bygone era. Come here for the best beer in the area. Come here for fresh hot crusty rolls featuring and showcasing proper food. Thick sliced ham, beautiful crystally mature cheddar, fresh sweet crab. They also do Ploughman's which are epic, and a small selection of homemade hot sponge type puds. The toilets allow you to gaze at the stars whilst you take your ease. The pub decor is a goldmine of old cuttings and local history. No TVs or Jukebox here, but a nice selection of books by the front door to pass your time, which will actually slow down if you allow it to when you visit. Bring cash. You order through one of three serving hatches that are the bar, proper old school. I say bring cash as they don't even have a till, just an original wooden drawer for notes and a carved bowl for change. Talking of change, please don't Bell... Ever. The pub is an absolute gem in this day and age of brewery owned chain pubs. Loved by camra members, locals, cyclists, clubs and those in the know, I'm in two minds whether or not to post this review, just because I don't want it to become too popular.

Outside seating in marquees due to Covid-19, but worth visiting for the crusty rolls served with a huge amount of filling and the well kept beers, first visit after wanting to give it a go for years, will definitely visit again.

Beautiful Berkshire Pub in picturesque village. A must visit for walkers and cyclists. The pretty garden has open sided marquees installed to allow outdoor seating during Covid-19 restrictions. West Berkshire Brewery beers on draft and Tutts Clump cider. The pub is renowned for its filled rolls with a selection of local fillings. Plenty of local walks around the area and the village of Aldworth including the church and graveyard worth exploring to find the \Giants

Lovely traditional village pub. Good Covid precautions. Met at the front door to check-in and place orders. Eating and drinking all outside in awnings / marquees with good spacing between tables. And the best bit was the beer and salted beef bap. Fab.
