It was our first time in Harwich and we decided to try a Chinese restaurant that was close to the caravan site that we were staying in. If you are thinking of getting a Chinese and are looking at The Beijing do it. As a group we think we've found a real hidden gem. Make sure you try one of the sweet and sour ball dishes as they are all delicious. Crispy chilli beef is a must and even the egg fried rice was beautiful. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious and being from London we have all eaten some very good Chinese food and this is right up there. This review would have been 5 stars, however we ordered a duck pad thai and unfortunately the dish that we received definitely wasn't a pad thai. It was a duck chow mein but was as delicious as the rest of the food so can't complain too much.

Great food order frequently from here best chinese about however let down tonight by the delivery driver. I live in a top floor flat and when the driver buzzed I let him in, he walked up to the top, scoffed at me and said ‘you could’ve at least walked down’ handed me the food and walked away, no thank you or anything. I actually have a reason as to why I couldn’t leave the flat, not that I should have to explain myself to the man that delivers my takeaway on a Friday night but there we go.
On holiday here and decided to try the Beijing,ordered our meal by phone which was for 4 people,a little bit more expensive than what we pay at home. We were told that it would be 20/25 minute wait which was fine,15 minutes later we got an automated call to say our order was ready to collect (very Covid safe) huge portions,well worth the bit extra that it cost,you have to try the mixed sweet & sour balls they were delicious along with everything else we had. If we are in this area again we would definitely order from here again. Great food,worth the money and nice friendly staff.
Chicken chow mein was great. Sadly while the Kung Po's chicken was good the sauce tasted like HP sauce. Could be a regional thing.
