We were a party of three. Welcome was friendly and quick. Good selection of wines - all available in glass or a full bottle. Ordered fish of the day and a sharing beef with side orders of chips, cauliflower cheese and green veg. Waited a while for the food but it was obviously being cooked to order on the grill. Really lovely whole fish and the beef was declared to be excellent by my husband and daughter. Wonderful chips! Portion sizes were spot on. Desserts were cocktails - again all very good. Front of house staff (including Nicole and Hayley) were attentive, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to trying the 'bar' menu of smaller dishes another time. We'll definitely be back!
So glad Carriages managed to survive, the new management and team have maintained the high standards we'd come to expect, with a wide range of new dishes, and the outdoor grill is a sight to behold, get something cooked on it... Delicious! Staff very attentive and welcoming, and doing everything possible to be Covid safe whilst still allowing you to enjoy your meal!
Really disappointed in this place having visited twice before and having a great evening it’s really gone down hill it’s overpriced and the food is average, such a shame we had high hopes of this been a great asset to Knaresborough. We have previously ordered the sharing steak however since reopening after the lockdown they increased the price from 55 to 70 and for average steak and frozen chips it’s way over the top!
