Nestled directly across from the bottom of the famous 199 Steps The Beach Hut offers an opportunity to get your energy levels up before attempting the climb or for a congratulatory treat for a successful descent. If you continue around the corner there's a nice little sunken garden to enjoy your purchases in. I wholeheartedly recommend the rhubarb crumble ice cream and the mint choc chip I tried was also good. Prices are keen considering the prime location, quality of goods and the fact its in Whitby. Service very pleasant too. I noted a range of vegan and other \dietary friendly\ options were on offer if you have specific needs.

Great dairy ice-cream and slushes. But needs 5 stars because of the excellent choice for those who have dairy allergies or who are vegan. There's a choice of at least 6 different flavours. But get the mango as that is yummy.
