What an awful pub this is. Really big let down under new management compared to previous landlord. Firstly, there is no social distancing at all in this place. People stood at the bar, people sat around the bar, no waiter service for drinks, have to order from the bar standing next to punters drinking at the bar. No track and trace facilities or if there was We were not asked to complete. No available hand gels in tables or the bar. No one way system neither, no social distancing at all. Terrible. Secondly, the food. All I can say this was a Big let down. After all the hype and reviews online we could not wait to try the new menu but it was a massive disappointment. There was 5 of us in the group and 2 had lasagne, rolled belly pork, Sunday lunch and pie. The lasagnes was very very dry and bland. The rolled belly pork was chewy, fatty and bland. The Sunday lunch, beef was rubbery, Yorkshire puddings cold and vegetables hard and cold, plus bland. The pie had been reheated in a microwave and not cooked fresh resulting in rubbery pastry and again bland with no taste. Was extremely disappointed and costed a small fortune. Thirdly the barmaid with dark hair did minimal work that was required, empty glasses piled up on people’s tables and on the bar, People waiting for drinks at the bar and very slow service. Finally I would not recommend this pub now and it use to be one of our favourites.

Had our wedding lunch there. Food was excellent and Janine did an amazing job of presenting the table with my tiny roses.
Our meal was fine, the menu was not extensive, but covered the bases. Service was very good, a pleasant balance between efficient and over attentive. All in all a good experience
Good pub reasonably priced just make sure to have your id
Had an excellent meal, muscles for starters where great in a white wine sauce, sirloin steak cooked to perfection, plenty on the plate and extra onion rings home made, hospitality from mine hosts made us very welcome and great service from the waitresses, will be making another visit maybe Thursday steak night a great offer.
