Very friendly, attentive, polite and the food was superb. My youngest daughter (11) is vegetarian and she thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian meal. I tasted some at her request and I was very impressed. There were alot of vegetarian options which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Credit and appreciation to the chef and staff for making our visit for my partner's birthday a great memory. Dawn x

When we first arrived, the front of house staff was rude and unfriendly and asked us to wait outside with a 5 year old boy due to our table not being ready. It was cold and intermittent raining. We went back in and explained that we felt that the welcome was not warm and that we were not happy about being outside. She then denied that she asked us to wait outside and come back in ten minutes. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she stated that she was the manager, I was not comfortable with this but I then asked their must be someone else I could speak to. The lady took us to the table. Sam came along and asked me what was wrong and I explained. From that moment on our experience improved significantly. We were informed by Sam that she had moved that person off front of house and put AJ on and that further training would be given to the member of staff and it turned out that it was the assistant manager that was rude. AJ came and checked we had been seated. Harry was professional and personable and a credit to the team, so was sam and the rest of the staff excluding assistant manager. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection and so was the desserts. It was a busy Friday evening, but the staff worked together to create a great atmosphere. They paid special attention to my little boy who is also called Harry and made his night by giving him a Harvester star badge for being brilliant. What started on a low, definitely finished on a high and that is the reason I am still giving 5/5. We are regulars to the Harvester and will be coming again.

Stopped in on the spur of the moment, as we were feeling peckish. It has been redecorated since my last visit and seemed fairly clean and tidy. Having looked at the options, we decided to go for the lunchtime offer 8.99 for 2 courses, or 10.99 for 3. Then, of course, there's the famous bread and salad bar, although I only had bread. Meals were fairly quick to arrive, although food was garnished with things not mentioned on the menu, which caused a bit of a problem due to my food allergies and intolerances. Those things were changed with any trouble and my potatoes skins, with cheese and bacon were very tasty, if a little drowning in grease. My son had nachos, which he enjoyed. Mains were chicken with potato and veg, and scampi and chips. The chicken was very succulent, the jacket potato passable and the veg a bit firm. My son was enjoying his scampi, right up until he found a hair buried under the food! To be fair, the staff exchanged his meal and deducted 50% from the bill, so fair enough, these things can happen, although I'm surprised at a lack of hair nets / caps. For a reasonable value meal, in pleasant enough surroundings, it's worth a visit. The staff were helpful and willing to sort issues where they arose.
