Great response to covid with socially distanced check in and fully app driven ordering. App located via qr code on the table menu, all wait staff wore face shields and masks. Good food , quick service and felt very safe

Went to the anchor last Sunday. Reason I am giving 5 stars is the lady front of house (blonde hair, ponytail) who was seating people. When she heard we had been looking for beef after she told us they were sold out, despite being absolutely swamped, went and asked the kitchen whether there was anything they could do. In the end they said they could do steak instead, service was 5 star. Roast was good.
Really lovely refurbishment/extension. Exactly my modern style of decor. Much more room and tables to eat at. Nice staff. Wait for food a little longer than I would like (and we were there early and only a handful of other guests). Nice chips!
Never visited this pub before but was pleasantly surprised. Fish and chips, nachos, chicken and bacon linguine and a pint of coke came to around 36. Decent sized portions too! Ordered through the website which you can access through the QR code on the table. Serving time was great (the two pints before were a little slow though) even though it seemed fairly busy. Track and trace details taken before being seated and table sanitized.
