Spent Christmas here. Magical. From the fabulous personal service of the team, the stunningly well crafted and delicious food to the sparklingly clean and architecturally designed new rooms. Everything id hoped for and 100% more. Absolutely would recommend.

We went to The Alice Inn on Friday night (04/12/20) for the first time. We took our dog with us after the restaurant confirmed they were dog friendly (but only in the bar area and not main restaurant). They had a dog bowl waiting at the table when we arrived which was a nice touch. The members of staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and genuine. I had the Venison and my partner had Hake, both dishes were 10/10. Quality of produce was amazing and they were cooked to perfection. We will be going back very soo, excellent overall experience!

Absolutely delicious lunch at The Alice Hawthorn! Such a great pub in the middle of the cutest yorkshire village. The cows were just happily grazing on the green as we drove in. Great service from the staff, we were greeted with smiles and sat outside in the courtyard on the grass. My kids were happy to see there was a kids menu which suited them just right. The desserts are heavenly so you need to leave room to try one! Everything about their menu is delicious. We will definitely be back at some point. Five stars well earned! - E.C

I've been to this lovely place previously to eat their amazing food. (And believe me, it's great) But today I was in Nun Monkton with a friend and we went to The Alice to see if we could get a coffee. The staff were so lovely - they weren't even open for business properly at all, but happily got us coffee for us to take away. This kind of service, literally service with a smile, just leaves you with such a great impression. Thank you to those lovely staff. Your kindness was very much appreciated.

I adore the Alice Hawthorn. My boyfriend and I visit here whenever we are visiting friends in York. The customer service is top class especially from the sommelier Enzo. Enzo is very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. The food is delicious and it was so good we ended up eating here twice during our weekend trip to York! The staff are excellent and the food is superb. The wine list is impressive and Enzo went above ad beyond to get me a Cabernet Franc from the cellar! Those triple cooked chips and the sauce on that lettuce that came with the steak was sensational. My compliments to the chef!
