Went here to get Indian DL equivalent of a Foreign DL. Need to submit online application, print all docs, carry all originals. You will need to get 3 signatures after waiting in queues. Be prepared to visit atleast 2 times and spend 3-4 hours before you get your paperwork approved and submitted. The staff is helpful, they will guide you just be polite when asking

For license renewal with old book license Very well organized and efficient staff. My experience was good with Thane RTO First process is to get the data entry done. - fill in the renewal form and attach license xerox copy and go to counter 13.also carry a copy of the renewal form post filling all details, they would stamp and give an acknowledgement. If verification from backend happens instantly then good, else they will give you another date ( meanwhile they will verify from backend) - once you go on the said date , collect your form from counter 13 and go to counter 8 for data entry. Post data entry go to counter 4 for biometric. 2nd process is to renew license online and book slot online for document verification. - select service as license renewal, now your data will be available online. ( u can also change address at this stage) -pay fees online -Book slot online -take print out of form1 and fill. - upload all the documents ( form 1, address proof, license ) Go to counter no 13 and submit all the document. Your work is done. You will get license via courier. For me it took 3 visit First visit - submit the form Second visit - data entry Third visit - document verification You can complete in 2 visit if you complete the 2nd process on your 2nd visit. Printout facility available outside the gate.
Officers n staff are rude n proudly and not helpful so you are compelled to seek help from agents. Vry time consuming. I hate visiting this place. Common manis at mercy of rto staff. Needs drastic change in their attitude.
