I chose Wessex/Joedan Home Improvements for 5 new aluminium double-glazed windows. Not an exciting experience as one would expect, especially considering these are not a cheap product. Probably would have had a better/more personal service from a local glazing company on recommendation from friend or neighbour. Would not recommend this outfit. Configuration of opening window on landing was wrong! Offered me punitive amount to keep it as it was, so I told them to get it sorted out. More inconvenience. Mine was an insurance job and I now have a problem with warranty as my contractor paid the invoice its therefore in their name! This despite me being told it would be with the home owner! Now saying their will be a fee to transfer it! Rubber gaskets were too short meaning mitre in corners was not square to the eye. They are coming back to put right! Left exterior in a state - instead of reinstating pebbledash whilst render was wet - my contractor had to come back creating clouds of grey dust to hack away render so he could apply pebbledash! Will need to revisit to apply Weathershield! They don't reinstate. Pretty poor service. See photos - I had 5 windows installed in total. Its not been a good experience!

On Thursday 10th September I had an interview for the job of saw man at Mercury Glazing Supplies for which I was more than qualified , and which is still being advertised on the Glos jobs website . The interview went well and it was looking good that I would get a job after four years out of work , I was told afterwards that I would receive an email ( which has turned out to be a lie ) , I have not received an email because Steven who interviewed me has allegedly spoken to an ex boss of mine , who he told me he knew at the interview and it would seem he has been told a lot of things about me behind my back that are not true and which he has believed . I worked for this employer for ten and a half years and it was the best job I have ever had with people I enjoyed working with , and he once told me that I should not think about leaving as I was going to be there for the next thirty years which was nice to hear , despite the fact I would be in my eighties when I retire ! sadly a HR person came along , took an instant dislike to me why I do not know why and still dont to this day and I ended up losing my job , and no one stood up for me . Everyday I worked for this company I gave 100% and saved the company many thousands of pounds over the years I worked there for which I never got any thanks or reward , while several other employees would stand around talking and doing very little for which they were rewarded with pay rises . This person also had a female employee called Rachel walk out on him due to his attitude towards her , and she made sure everyone knew by an email she sent to all the staff before she left to say how she had been treated by him . In the meantime thanks to my ex boss I have to continue to struggle on 281.39 Universal Credit each month , and food every Wednesday from a food bank , and that is NOT a lie . Thanks John this is the what I get for always giving everything for Joedan , while others did very little .

This is the second time that we have used Joedan. During the process of removing the old doors, some rendering came away. Unavoidable I believe. The repair was conducted with attention to detail and care. No complaints and we will use them again. They are not cheap but I believe that you get what you pay for.
