The store situated to the south of the town centre on the old market site is shared with a small number of other shops. The car park is poorly laid out and dangerous for pedestrians but holds a fair number of parking places. Also access to the petrol station is also poor and often very busy. The store lay out is adequate with a fair choice of items but poor as a super store more like a normal supermarket. Road Access to and from the store is not the best with often long queues of traffic negotiating the new ring road system and various islands. Tesco looks as though they tried to get a quart in a pint pot and would have been better having the site to themselves rather than sharing it out. I personally do not like the store or the layout and although it is my nearest Tesco I do not use it as it is too dangerous and congested, although I appreciate it suits a lot of people from the packed car park and heavy traffic. Staff have always been obliging and friendly. Stocks vary during the day and on several visits have not had the items required necessitating either a visit to the adjacent Aldi or across town to Morrison’s. This Tesco is not the best by far but also not the worst visited. I do not use it unless absolutely necessary you need to be aware of the numerous vehicles around the congested site and the poor access to and from the peripheral feeder roads. Not for me but three stars for the good staff.
