During the Covid 19 pandemic I have visited many Tesco stores due to the travelling nature of my job. All of the stores had been exeptionally organised and very efficient in managing queues and the 2m social distancing policy. Unfortunately I had to use the Abertillery store yesterday, what a very very diffferent experience. I stood behind a gentleman at the self serve tills for a loud, rude woman to shout across the store to me that there was a queue at the other side of the store for the self serve tills - there was no signage for this. I, together with another gentleman walked over to the other side of the store where just one person was standing with a full trolley and told to wait there. Two seconds after arriving at the designated area she told the woman with the trolley to wait for a manned desk to become available and told me and the gentleman to go to the self service tills. There was no apology for her abrupt manner or the time we wasted walking to and from the self service area. Some people are just enjoying the power to being to able to dictate where we go. This blonde lady was a very poor representation of the normally excellent front of house staff for Tesco.
I would like to say how helpful the tesco staff was this morning made me feel at ease knowing how anxious I was and looking very stressed keep up the good work and stay safe
Stop here for my break when I am near. Nice and friendly staff.
