Draconian covid measures and an altogether unpleasant experience. Attempted to do a weekly shop with the wife. Initially we were denied entry as we tried to enter together and apparently they have a 1 person per household rule. Whislt we were unaware of this, those who were just simply told the security staff they were from different households and went in. So we split up and went in separately with our own trollies and shopped separately but as we were unable to discuss requirements ended up with very little. As my wife had not taken her purse and had no way to pay we met at checkout and put all items into one trolley to pay. At checkout we were chastised by the operator for there being 2 people together and told that she would not process anything through the checkout untill one of us had left the store. My wife moved and stood well over 2m from the tills but was told this was not sufficient and she was told she had to leave. Apparently this is for the safety of the staff. Well they are quite happy to sell none essential items that specialist stores in town are not allowed to open for and sell so Seems to be some double standards here. Checkout operator told me to come alone next time. Told her there wouldn't be a next time. There are plenty of other supermarkets in town.

What can I say? It's Tesco. On the plus side, the car parking is undercover which is great in the bad weather. Oh, and I saw a knight buying flowers here - as you do!
Really unfriendly front staff member during all this Pandemic situation. Not the first time had someone impolite and unfriendly at the front door, I totally understand that there is only essential shopping, so Tesco want to permit only one person per house hold or so, but there is no need to screaming, yelling and raise your fingers to customers.
Attended Tesco's at Wisbech yesterday with my disabled wife (I'm her carer) as I went to unload her mobility scooter a female member of staff approached us and said that only one of us could shop, as they/she was only allowing one person at a time. I explained we needed to buy ladies underwear and ladies toiletries etc but she refused us entry! I have tried to complain but know body is responding. Went to Asdas instead who were happy to allow us in and we spent over 85 there. We were wearing masks and gloves.. Nice one tesco!
