The Terrace Entrepreneurs’ Coalition has opened the doors of Terrace’s new co-working space: TEC Space. Located in the Stantec Building at 4623 Park Avenue, the technology and business service co-working space was established with the support of the City of Terrace and a strong group of local entrepreneurs. The City of Terrace identified the need for the space after a community consultation in November of 2017 where over 35 local entrepreneurs responded with feedback on a potential space. The Terrace Entrepreneurs’ Coalition was officially established in June 2018 as a non-profit society and a downtown location for TEC Space was identified right in the heart of the city’s downtown revitalization. Many entrepreneurs typically find working from home or coffee shops difficult to get into a “flow”. The purpose of the initiative is to bring entrepreneurs out of isolation and into direct collaboration in their own community. There have been over 26 co-working spaces spring up in BC alone to satisfy the needs of entrepreneurs. Globally, co-working is seeing a 400% rise in popularity. TEC Space provides members of the Terrace Entrepreneurs’ Coalition the following monthly services: • 24-Hour Access to Secure Premises • Fibre Optic Internet and wifi Courtesy of Telus • Networking / Mentorship • Small Boardroom Usage • Small Kitchen with Coffee/Tea • Shower • Furnished Offices and Hot Desk Spaces • Printer Access and Video Conferencing (on the way!)
